Boys & Girls Clubs & Orlando Magic Mural
At the beginning of 2023, Club Director Tasha Robinson-Banks commissioned me to paint a four-part mural at the Levy-Huges Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. The outreach team of the Orlando Magic funded this mural as part of their "MLK Service Week" Initiative.
For this four-part mural, I was inspired by mural art found within other Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation and created a design that incorporated their brand identity and my colorful art style. I worked with both teams throughout and later presented my concept art for approval.
In addition to designing the artwork and prepping and priming the walls within the Club, I also planned the logistics of a volunteer painting event.
During the week following Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2023, the Levy-Huges Branch and I hosted over 35 Orlando Magic outreach volunteers. Both volunteers and children from the Club could paint and add color to the mural.
I was honored to work on this sizable project with two incredibly important non-profits in the Orlando community!
